The Berlin Police Dept. made an arrest on Mar. 8, while a theft was in progress. The subject in question attempted to steal two catalytic converters.

On Monday, at approximately 10:54 a.m., a Berlin Police officer, who felt that there was suspicious activity taking place, observed a male suspect under a vehicle near the 100th block of Route 73.

The officer continued to observe the actions of the suspect. They were consistent with the removal of catalytic converters in the vehicle. The subject then entered a vehicle that was later stopped.

During an on-scene investigation, two catalytic converters were recovered from the vehicle. The suspect was taken into custody and hit with theft, criminal mischief, trespassing, and hindering apprehension charges.

The converters have been returned to the rightful owner of the vehicle.
